Despite having a very short period to decide, I was fortunate to receive a bit of interest from a number of institutions for my services.  I spoke with a few coaches, did my research.  I made my mind up. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I already knew Louisburg College ran a successful soccer programme.  Numerous Regional & District titles and five Nationals appearances in the last six seasons speaks for itself.  Head Coach, Dave Sexton had been in charge of the men’s soccer programme for the last eight years, has an impressive array of coaching qualifications gained in America and England plus he’s from a footballing background.

I felt the British influence would help me settle and there were a few other lads from the U.K. in the squad as well. I spoke with Dave a few times on the phone.  He liked his teams to play an expansive game, he was looking for a creative midfield player and although there was around twenty five lads in the Louisburg squad, which allowed them to run a reserve team, he convinced me that if I applied myself during pre-season I would have a great opportunity to establish myself in the first team.
